Prof. Catherine Barnard是劍橋大學法學系歐洲法教授、三一學院院士與英國國家學術院院士(英國人文社科領域最高榮譽之一),同時擔任「變化歐洲下的英國」(UK in a Changing Europe)副總監,兼具深厚學術造詣與廣泛公共影響力。1995年,Barnard 加入劍橋法學院,憑藉卓越的學術能力長期穩居頂尖講師行列,2025年正式出任劍橋大學歐洲法教授。她深耕教學一線,教學風格兼具深度與通俗性,擅長將複雜法律議題轉化為易懂內容,因突出的教學貢獻榮獲劍橋大學皮爾金頓教學獎這一校內重要教學榮譽。 學術研究上,她聚焦歐盟法與勞動法交叉領域,重點鑽研工作時間監管、企業社會責任、脫歐後英歐法律銜接等前沿議題,通過實證研究推動「反思性法律」理論在勞動標準提升中的應用,相關成果發表於國際頂尖學術期刊。其編著的《英國法入門》成為全球多所高校法學專業核心入門教材,兼具學術深度與普及價值。作為兼具學術與公共服務雙重角色的學者,她的研究成果常為歐盟及英國勞動政策制定提供關鍵參考。同時,她積極通過媒體解讀脫歐後的法律變動,推動學術成果向公眾傳播與政策轉化,成為連接法學研究與社會實踐的重要橋樑。
